David Herkt has written extensively on New Zealand gay history. He has two Qantas/Film and Television Awards: Best Factual Series for the three-part 'High Times: The New Zealand Drug Experience' and Best Children’s/Young Adults' Programme for 'Play It Strange 2008'. He lives in Auckland.
