Hinemoa Elder
Dr Hinemoa Elder (Ngāti Kurī, Te Rarawa, Te Aupōuri, Ngāpuhi) is a youth forensic psychiatrist whose research has focused on the development of tikanga approaches for Māori tamariki who experience traumatic brain injury. She is a fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and on the Māori Advisory Committee of the Centre for Brain Research. In 2019 she was made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for her services to psychiatry and Māori.
