Joan Druett
Joan Druett is a maritime historian who specialises in the unusual people who voyaged under sail, including women, children, pirates and adventurous Polynesians. She is the author of many award-winning books, including Tupaia, which won the NZ Post Best Book of General Non-fiction in 2012. Joan was born in Nelson in 1939.
